Two earthquakes occurred in rapid succession near Cadia in Central NSW. The first event at 5:56pm of magnitude ML 2.4 was approximately 24 kilometres north of Cadia .  This was followed about 20 seconds later by an event of magnitude ML 2.5, approximately 2 kilometres southwest of Cadia .

This earthquake occurred in the same region as the recent magnitude 3.1 earthquake of 5 June, about 40 kilometres north of Boorowa, or about 150 kilometres north of Canberra. It has been felt in Cowra, Crookwell, Grenfell, Young, Neville & Jugiong. An aftershock of magnitude ML 2.3 occurred on June 27 at 2338 UTC (Thursday, June 28, 9:38am AEST) and was felt in Reid’s Flat.

A large earthquake occurred approximately 120 kilometres southeast of Melbourne, about 10km south of Moe.  This earthquake was felt across Melbourne, with reports of it being felt from as far away as Deniliquin in NSW – around 330km from the epicentre. There were dozens of aftershocks in the hours following this earthquake, reducing in frequency after about 36 hours, but continuing for weeks.

Two moderate earthquakes occurred in rapid succession about 30 kilometres northwest of Tamworth in Northern NSW. The first event at 9:31pm of magnitude 4.5 was followed a minute later by an event of magnitude 4.2. The tremors have reportedly been felt in Attunga, Bendemeer, Tamworth and Dungowan.
